FilesBook is built in Europe. Its core application and document storage are hosted in Germany, and the product is designed with privacy-conscious defaults.

Controls in place today
- HTTPS in transit, secure session cookies and anti-forgery protection.
- User-scoped access checks, with private documents separated from shared official knowledge.
- Passkeys, multi-factor authentication and recent identity checks for sensitive security changes.
- File type, signature, size and path validation for supported uploads.
- Optional local redaction before a document is submitted for analysis.
- Short-lived local backups with tested restore procedures.
Important boundaries
- FilesBook is not end-to-end encrypted or a zero-knowledge service.
- Documents are not yet protected with application-level encryption at rest.
- When you choose AI analysis, the selected original or redacted copy is sent to an external AI provider for processing.
- Deleted data can remain in limited backup copies until those backups expire.
- Malware scanning is not currently implemented; do not upload untrusted files.
What is being completed before a wider release
Application-level document encryption, encrypted off-site backups, account export and deletion, enforced retention schedules, processor documentation and the formal privacy notice are tracked release requirements. No “GDPR compliant” certification claim is being made on this page.
